How can I save more credits when using POP?
The Credit Log

The first thing we need to do is arm ourselves with knowledge. In particular, the knowledge of how we are spending credits within the tool. We can do this, by navigating to what is known as the Credit Log within the tool.
To do that, we must go the the top right hand drop down menu, once there select the 'Credit Log' option.
Inside the credit log, you are able to evaluate your monthly average usage of credits, as well as where these credits are used. This allows you to be critical of how you are utilizing credits. For example, in the screenshot above, we can see that from 6/20 to 7/20, that I used 170 total POP credits. With a majority of those credits being used within the POP AI.
Armed with this information, I can save credits by determining if I do need to use POP AI this much. Am I regenerating sections more than needed? How can I save credits when using this feature? We'll cover that in an upcoming section in this article.
New PageRuns vs Re-runs
When running inside of PageOptimizer Pro you will have two different ways you can create a page. Those two ways are New PageRuns and Re-runs.
A New PageRun will cost 2 POP Credits if you are not on an Unlimited plan and will create a brand new pagerun folder. The creation of this brand new folder is generally the reason why you would do a New PageRun, this allows you to keep your data separate. While also cutting down on you navigation time.
Importantly however, Re-runs cost 1 Credit. With the drawback to this being that all re-runs will be inside the original pagerun folder.
In most cases, even though re-runs can cause an organizational nightmare. We recommend doing re-runs. They provide the same amount of data that New PageRuns provide. With you being able to even customize re-runs if you select the 'Make Changes' or 'Switch Setups' options.
Just ensure you stay on top of which reports are what, as if you don't you can cause yourself quite the headache when looking for the run you need.
Checking your score
Once you have your hands on a report, and you have made changes as recommended by the tool to your page. You will want to see how those changes affect your score within POP.
Instinctually, you may want to re-run the page. However, we recommend you don't do this as it costs a credit. Instead you should consider one of the two options available in checking your score completely free.
The first option is editing within the tools Content Editor. With this you can make edits to your page without needing to push those changes to live, and then re-running. You can also check how the changes you've made to your page affect your score in real time. This is an incredibly powerful tool, that we encourage everyone to take advantage of.
The second option is to use the POP Chrome Extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pageoptimizer-pro/nfpngpgicoflhemmfebjahmjfcbnfobi
With the POP Chrome Extension you can do exactly what you can in the Content Editor, except you can do it in either you websites editor or a Google Document. This gives you the opportunity to edit in an environment you are comfortable in. You can even change the size of the chrome extensions window as well as minimize it. Allowing you to focus in on the text for your page; and do technical work at the same time.
EEAT and NLP
With the NLP and EEAT features in POP you can get recommendations on what entities to add to your page as well as how to add EEAT signals to your page.
Both are extremely advantageous to add to your page.
If you are considering working on either in your page. We recommend setting your reports to generate with them on the initial New PageRun setup. This will allow you to save credits, by making it to where you don't need to re-run the page in order to see the information.
POP AI
With POP AI you are able to generate articles based on the recommendations within POP. It costs 4 Credits per 1000 words, and can become costly credit wise very quickly if you do not use it wisely. So how can we cut that cost down?
First, we can save a massive amount of credits by seeking out GPT-4's API. You can see an article on it here: https://help.pageoptimizer.pro/article/how-to-use-gpt-4-api-in-pop
This makes it to where, no matter how many words you ask the AI to generate. It will always cost you 1 POP Credit.
Secondly, we should evaluate when we regenerate any text. For example, when regenerating any Main Content text. You must do so section by section. If you have 10 of those needing regeneration, you can end up spending an additional 5 POP Credits in an AI run. If we however, have the API, we can save credits by simply starting the whole process over. Saving us 4 credits or more depending on circumstance.
