Basic Metrics
When you run an analysis of your keywords in the Keyword Insights tool, POP generates a table of basic keyword information including:
This represents the lowest estimated monthly search volume for a keyword, helping you gauge its baseline popularity.
This represents the highest estimated monthly search volume for a keyword, indicating peak search demand.
Indicates how hard it is to rank in the top 10 search results for a keyword, on a scale of 0 to 100. Higher percentages reflect higher competition and ranking difficulty.
Your current Google ranking position for specific keywords. Lower numbers is going to reflect higher positions on the results page.
The URL of your page currently ranking on Google for the selected keyword.
Estimates the competitive strength of a keyword based on difficulty metrics, helping you assess the effort needed to outrank competitors.
Advanced Metrics
Then once we select the keywords that we want to use for advanced analysis, we get an additional data set. This will include the following:
Keyword Golden Ratio Score or KGR
The Keyword Golden Ratio (KGR) is a valuable SEO metric that helps identify low-competition, high-opportunity keywords. It is calculated by dividing the number of Google search results that include the exact keyword phrase in the title by the keyword's monthly local search volume.
The formula for KGR is:
(Number of search results with the keyword in the title / Monthly local search volume) * 100
A KGR value of less than 2.5 indicates a prime keyword opportunity, meaning there is a good chance of ranking in the top 50 search results, especially for newer websites. Keywords with a higher KGR may be more competitive and harder to rank for.
This metric is ideal for finding "hidden gem" keywords with low competition but decent search volume.
The Keyword Score is a proprietary (POP only), weighted metric designed to highlight the most valuable keywords for your SEO strategy. It combines several important factors, including:
Monthly Search Volume: How frequently the keyword is searched for, indicating its popularity and traffic potential.
Competition Strength: The level of competition for that keyword in search engine rankings.
Keyword difficulty: A calculation of how long it might take for your content to achieve a high ranking for the keyword, factoring in the competition and current ranking positions.
The Keyword Score simplifies decision-making by giving you a clear, color-coded signal. The darker the green, the better the keyword in terms of both opportunity and ease of ranking. Keywords with a high score offer a strong balance of traffic potential and achievable ranking success, making them ideal targets for your SEO strategy.
The SEO Competitiveness Index is a proprietary metric that evaluates the level of SEO optimization for a given keyword based on two key factors:
Title Optimization Frequency: This represents how many pages explicitly target the keyword in their page titles, signaling intentional optimization. Since the title is one of the most prominent on-page SEO elements, a higher frequency indicates that more competitors are actively targeting the keyword in their on-page strategy.
Backlink Anchor Text Relevance: This measures how many external links pointing to various pages use the keyword in their anchor text. When websites receive backlinks with relevant anchor text, it demonstrates a stronger off-page SEO effort, as backlinks are a major ranking factor in search algorithms.
By assessing these two factors together, the SEO Competitiveness Index gives a comprehensive view of how many pages are actively optimized for the keyword, both in terms of on-page elements (title) and off-page elements (backlinks). This can help gauge how much effort competitors are putting into ranking for a specific keyword.
This metric shows the number of pages that use the exact keyword in their title tag. A higher number suggests more competition targeting the keyword in in on-page SEO.
All of these metrics provide you with additional data to evaluate the competitiveness of keywords and your site’s likelihood for ranking.
Analyze with AI
Finally once you run the Analyze with AI analysis, you will generate the Type feature. You need at least 10 keywords selected as part of the AI Analysis to generate the type feature.
This feature uses AI and our specialized algorithm to find the best main keywords for your top page and keywords to support it. It helps you build a well-structured content ‘SILO’ that makes it easier for search engines to understand your content and boost rankings. It’s all tailored to fit your content goals, so your keywords are both relevant and strategic.
In addition, you can generate POP reports directly from the Keyword Strategy Interface by simply clicking on the generate POP report button. This gives you all of your normal options from the POP report including the ability to generate an article with our AI writer.
I hope you found this information helpful and as always good luck optimizing.
